What Others Say

Expat Living, January 2010

The ambience, both inside and out, the range of cuisine and the quality make Barnacles a fantastic choice. The staff here is excellent, as in the main hotel.

Expat Living, March 2009

Right on the beach, brunch at Barnacles feels like being on holiday. …Children were excellently catered for at the kiddie-height buffet outdoors. There’s a play area within view, and a magician show for their mystification. …This was not one of those grand, massive buffets but every item we tried was perfect and delicious.

Singapore Tatler, February 2009

Barnacles Restaurant at Rasa Sentosa Resort is a romantic’s best kept secret. Few places could be as idyllic as Barnacles at sunset: the gentle clinking of champagne flutes are perfectly in tune with the soothing rush of waves. Couples with wind-swept hair seem to glow, though whether it’s the result of the rosy setting sun or or simply being in paradise remains to be determined.

Wine & Dine Top Restaurants 2009

Barnacles is beach side dining at its best, offering a panoramic view of the South China sea across from Siloso Beach. The romantic alfresco seating on the terrace, set against the twinkling lights of ships against the night sky, is sure to calm the busiest minds.

The food is exquisite, the ambience superb and the service is excellent. Dining at Barnacles is unexpected and unpredictable, which makes the night amazing.

The Finder Singapore, November 2008

Barnacles overlooks a green lawn and the ocean beyond. With gentle sea breezes, this relaxed environment seems worlds away from Singapore.

The seafood is served the way Europeans like it - fresh, with minimal seasoning. The cold seafood platter was the clear favourite of the meal.

Signature dishes like the Yin Yang.seafood platter on ice, pan-seared foie gras with passion fruit coulis, grilled meat & seafood skewer and chilli crab will definitely keep you satisfied, together with that sea view to boot.

The Business Visitor, August / September 2008

The Expat Magazine, August 2008

The seafood platter, like a classic French fruits de mer, is a tour de force of super fresh oysters, shrimps, mussels, clams, lobster and so forth.

The Food Newsgazine, August 2008

What better way to start a beautiful Sunday than with a sumptuous brunch? The delightful combo of buffet and BBQ spread really got our appetite buzzing. Seafood is the main emphasis here. The appetizer of cold crab turned out to be a sweet and juicy munch. The oysters were spanking fresh and the perfumed scents emanating from the butter cream mussels aroused my salivary glands.

Asian Traveler, July 2008
For an unknown but I suspect predictable reason, Gabby and I chose the same item on the bestseller list: the Chef’s Mixed Grill. To use the phrase surf-and-turf would be too pedestrian; the dish is a feast…We ate in silence, savoring the food, watching the faint twinkling lights of this premiere city, occasionally grunting an approval on each morsel we savored.
I-S Magazine, 4 July 2008
This.is another establishment that takes advantage of the scenic ocean view, with lovely alfresco seats overlooking a patch of greenery before extending into the sparkling sea. The surrounding white picket fence gives it a quaint English touch, and the food does not disappoint either.

Lifestyle 100 Best Dishes (The Sunday Times), October 2007
One of them, called Yin Yang, because it comprises of 2 dishes on a plate, is excellent. The two dishes, crispy honey baby squid and prawns in mayonnaise sauce, show up a sharp contrast in taste as well as colours..The baby squids are the star of the dish. It's simply the best version I've eaten. Barnacles is a restaurant that is really easy to like… If you are the type who enjoys having a sea breeze ruffle in your hair while you dine, there are seats on the terrace outside that look really romantic in the evening.
